Midnight Marauder is an LA based, freelance designer/ movie aficionado who was approached by Nordstrom’s to do an original, exclusive poster series based on his favorite 5 best pictures for this years 85th Oscars. Take a look at what he came up with and read a little bit about each one.
AMOUR : Michael Haneke has crafted quite a love story with devastating affects. This film will eat you up if you let it consume you. I can’t help bring that polish touch to such a depressing and beautiful film.
LINCOLN : I am a Big Civil war Buff, I ritually watch Ken Burn’s Civil War a few times a year. So the entire Lincoln story is something I am deeply passionate about. Only a true Maverick can bring his last few months to the screen with such vigor. I wanted to go with something simple and clean, like the times of old.
DJANGO UNCHAINED : QT is a marvelous writer, I can Imagine him giddy with excitement when he called Waltz over to read his part. I loved the energy of each character in the film. when Waltz and Di Caprio left the film, he lost me.
ZERO DARK THIRTY : I love Bigelow’s Films, she is right up there with guys like Paul Greengrass, Guy Ritchie or someone like Zack Snyder. Again I went Polish with the poster.
ARGO : Went a little Syriana on this one. I guess the film struck me as CIA on a mission. Clooney produced the film so It has that smell to it. Honestly the Best Picture this year is The Master …. It’s a Shame That PTA hasn’t gotten the recognition he so rightly deserves.
